My 10, 20, and 30

"An acquaintance in the writing community, Mary DeMuth, is doing a blog experiment to see how far-reaching blogs can be. She tagged 12 people and asked them to tag others to see how far this can go. If you decide to answer her question, either leave it as a comment on this blog or answer it in your blog and link back to hers. (http://www.relevantblog.blogspot.com/)

"The question is, what were you doing 10, 20 and 30 years ago? Here's my response:"

10 years: In 1997, I was working as a technology assistant in the Juneau School District and working on my master's degree at the University of Alaska, Southeast. I remember lots of long nights and Saturdays full of doing homework for the degree.

20 year ago: 1987 is the year that was such a pivotal year in my life that I use it as brain-anchor by which I judge the progression of time and it is the standard by which I judge the successes of all other years. It was the year my cousin lived with us for a few months, we sold my childhood home, I drove through Canada for the first time, we moved to Vancouver, Washington, I established many great friendships that I still hold onto, and I began three years at a wonderful and small private school. It was a big year.

30 years ago: I was in Kindergarten at Auke Bay School. I also started 1st grade at Glacier Valley School where I am now a teacher. We missed the first three days of school that year because of a possible teacher strike and I missed out on a lot of the classroom procedures which led to the most embarrassing moment of my life. But I have lots of good memories (or at least 3) from 30 years ago.
