On Satuday I went downtown with some friends to watch a parade of Tlingit and Haida Indians. Each year they come to Juneau for all over the Northwest and Alaska for an event called Celebration. For 4 or 5 days they dance, eat, sing, talk, and share in their native heritage.

I think it has done wonderful things for their community in helping overcome the struggles of their past. For the parade, they dress in traditional costume and dance through downtown Juneau. I took lots of photos and will post many more later in the summer. Here are a few to give you an idea of what it was like. This event reminds me a lot of the
Diablo Dance I went to in Venezuela a year ago. It is very cultural and very fun to watch.
