Romania Summer Missions
Each week Dana and Geoffrey will be sending us brief reports of their work in Romania. This will be a unique opportunity to see missions from the perspective of a new missionary and one who has worked the field for several years. They leave on Wednesday morning.

Dana's Report - Over the past years and months, God has guided me through many opportunities to grow in my faith and to share the gospel of Christ. I have recently felt inspired to step out of my comfort zone and pursue my desire to share how God is working in my life and the lives of those whom I know. My every hope is to share the gospel with people who do not always have the opportunity to read or hear the living word. I often think about Paul's letter to Timothy in 2 Timothy 1:8-10 where Paul says,
"…so do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join me in the suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, who has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done, but because of His own purpose and grace."
As I step out into an unfamiliar place, Romania, I see that this passage has provided me with comfort, strength and guidance. I pray that God will open the hearts and minds of those I meet and talk with overseas. I pray for a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline as I continue to trust our Lord to work in me and through me so that His Word can be heard and that He will be loved. Thank you for your prayers for me during my journey. – D. Moats

Geoffrey's Report - I had never expected to be a missionary to Romania but God works in different ways than we expect. I am very excited to return to Bucharest and help with the work there. You would think it would get easier as I return year after year. Instead, I find that I am resisting leaving my home, Juneau, during the best months of the year. I am also getting some indication that this summer could be very spiritually challenging for me. However, I think of people like Abraham who left his home because God asked him to. He had faith God would work things out and the sacrifice would be worth it. So I can do nothing less than TRUST.
This summer, Dana and I will be helping to establish a second congregation in Bucharest. We will be doing daily Bible studies with Romanians who are proficient in English. We will be showing our students that Jesus was present in the OT and that He still is alive. It is important that the students know God loves them.
Having done this for several summers, I have built several good relationships with Romanians and hope to build on that for the furtherance of the Kingdom. It is important that we are staying for the entire summer because it will help give credibility and stability to our work as we form strong bonds with our students. Please keep us in your prayers. – G. Wyatt
